![]() Bioroids are so nimble that if they are on a sled when it is destroyed they land in the same spot that they are in on the ground and do not take any additional damage. Excess damage from any single attack that destroys the sled of rider is lost. On a result of a 1 to 3 the Bioroid is hit and on a result of 4 to 6 the Hoversled is hit by the attack. When a Bioroid is mounted and is hit, roll a D6. They are essentially advance remote controlled sleds with a limited AI that have been slaved the the Bioroid computer systems. The sleds are much faster when unoccupied by a bioroid but cannot attack or dodge autonomously. When an Bioroid dismounts the platform will land safely and is taken off the table and out of harm's way. Once mounted a Bioroid moves at the speed of the Sled and it will also lose the Jump AND the Quick traits. Bioroids can freely mount and dismount their sleds at the start of their activation step. Sleds are an integral part of the Bioroid strategy. Bioroid squadrons can purchase the sleds. These sleds allow additional firepower and faster movement to the front lines for Bioroid forces. The Bioroids are not required to fire simultaneously, but this ability ONLY functions for Bioroid Units.Ģ Hoversleds Hoversleds are used exclusively by the Robotech Maasters Bioroid forces. Whenever a squadron including three or more Bioroids is in Close Formation, the Bioroids can fire independently. Another key to the Masters was machine are the Bioroids. The Robotech Masters advanced systems give all units a greater Close Formation range at 4 inches instead of the normal 2 inches. The Military was designed more as a militia to maintain the worlds conquered by their Zentraedi Slaves. They have gone through numerous upgrades trying to improve the effectiveness of their forces. Their Military arm however advanced, was less developed for war than that of the Zentraedi. ![]() Robotech Masters The Masters have a few advantaged over other Factions due to their advanced Robotech systems. For me though, it was my entry into anime and in a language that I understood best.Presentation on theme: "Robotech Masters Faction"- Presentation transcript: There are a lot of purists who poo-poo Robotech, saying that it’s a travesty of the original material. I remember drooling over this toy whenever I was at the toy store. Incidentally, there was never a Japanese version of this mecha made. The Hover Tank was the main mecha hero Dana Sterling piloted. The holy grail of this line for me was the Veritech Hover Tank from the Robotech Masters portion of the series. I had 3 toys from the series: the Excalibur Mk VI (retconned into the Tomahawk), the Armoured Cyclone and a figure of Rand in civilian clothes. ![]() I remember they were only available in a toy shop at the top level of the mall Wisma Atria. The toys were released by Matchbox that went with 3 3/4 inch figures (same as G.I.Joe of the time) with the vehicles correspondingly scaled (somewhat) to match. As a kid though, I could have done with less of the icky romance, especially in the Macross Saga. Robotech’s overall plot was far more mature than was out there with its handling of romance and many character deaths. For one thing, the characters are more interesting and of course, the mecha stood out more. Like most Robotech fans, I preferred The Macross Saga and The New Generation. Robotech itself was never shown in Singapore. But no matter, I enjoyed all the different versions, even more so after I’ve learned about their differences. With this technology, Earth developed giant robotic machines or mecha (many of which were capable of transforming into vehicles) to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions.Īt this point in Singapore, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada, the 3 separate series that made up Robotech were also playing on local TV in their original forms, except they were dubbed in Mandarin. Within the combined and edited story, Robotechnology refers to the scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed on a South Pacific island. Robotech is an 85-episode adaptation of three different anime television series made between 1982-1984 in Japan the adaptation was aired in 1985. Among them was a little gem called Robotech. That made for a lot of 30 minute cartoons. If I remembered correctly there were 21 cassettes at 8 hours each. In the early 1980s, my older brother who was studying in the US would record me video cassettes worth of cartoons.
